The theme of this June Allure box was the phrase “I can forgive you everything for a full-size bottle of an excellent nail polish” :)
Small Stipple Brush, e.l.f. Studio
All of us who have used cosmetics for a long time have already accepted this simple truth in practice – there is no such a thing as too many brushes! So for this reason I was very pleased to find in my beauty box a Small Stipple Brush from e.l.f. Studio.
The brush has thick hair across the length of the dark part and more sparse hair on the tip. It was designed for applying liquid foundation and cream, as well as for the easy application of powder and bronzer.
By the way, a mini version of the brush was included in this box. Ideally, this brush should be a broad brush, and it should apply powder or foundation on the skin resulting in a light and faint haze. The small version of the brush doesn’t give you that effect after the first application; it takes a little more time with the small brush to apply all of the product, so you have to work on the same areas several times – and after all that, the “transparent effect” can just disappear.
The small stipple brush from e.l.f. is slightly inferior in quality to the proven classics 187 Duo Fibre Brush, MAC (which is also shortened and makes for a perfect travel essential). But if you are just learning make-up basics, or if $42 for a brush is not the amount that you would like to pay, then the e.l.f. brush will be your excellent assistant.
Все, кто пользуется косметикой давно, уже проверили простую истину на практике – кистей много не бывает, поэтому наличие в моей июньской коробочке штриховой кисти меня очень порадовало.
Сама конструкция кисти – плотная по всей темной длине кисти и более редкой на кончике – предназначена для нанесения и растушевки жидких текстур, а также для легкого нанесения пудры и бронзеров, что очень актуально для лета.
Кстати, в коробочку положили мини вариант кисти. В идеале такая кисть должна быть широкой и наносимые ею средства должны ложиться на кожу легкой едва заметной дымкой. С мини вариантом кисти сразу такого “эффекта дымки” добиться не получится, придется по нескольку раз прорабатывать одни и те же области из-за чего вот этот самый “прозрачный эффект” исчезает.
Кисть от e.l.f. по качеству немного уступает проверенной классике от MAC 187 Duo Fibra Brush (которая еще и укороченная, что делает ее просто незаменимой в поездках). Но если вы только осваиваете азы макияжа или $42 за одну кисть это не та сумма, которую вы бы хотели платить, то кисть от e.l.f. станет вам отличным помошником.
Nail Couture in Polo Lounge Punch, Lauren B. Beauty
This nail polish is a real find – a great vibrant color, good durability and easy application make this nail polish my new summer favorite!
I can only note one minor and temporary inconvenience – it has a very thin brush. But I can’t say that it applied the lacquer uncomfortably – it’s probably a matter of habit. I’m used to broad Revlon brushes. So this time it just was a little tricky for me and took a little longer, but the result was just stunning!
I received a huge number of compliments on my manicure; I was asked the name of my incredible nail master, and I was proud to answer that with such a lacquer, a master is not needed ;)

Из относительных и временных неудобств (именно неудобств, поскольку недостатков для меня в этом лаке просто нет :)) я могу только отметить форму кисти – она очень тонкая. Но я не могу сказать, что наносить ею лак неудобно – скорее всего это дело привычки. Я привыкла к широким ревлоновским кисточкам, поэтому в этот раз просто пришлось немного повозиться, зато результат был просто ошеломительный!
Я получила огромное количество комплиментом моему маникюрю, все спрашвали имя моего мастера, а я с гордостью отвечала, что с таким лаком и мастер не нужен ;)
Perfect Ending Leave in Conditioner, eSalon
I’m not a big fan of leave-in hair conditioners because all the promised features of those conditioners (such invisibility on the hair, weightlessness, etc.) do not work on my hair. So for me, this hair conditioner can’t offer me anything special.
But the brand that created this conditioner has a very interesting proposal – this is where the fun begins. The idea of the brand is that you can develop your own personal formula of color; once your personal hair dye cream is created, then every month you’ll receive a new bottle of it. All you need to do is take a test and let them know a little about your hair. This pleasure will cost you $30/month. In addition, you can order other online products for hair care.
All this sounds wonderful, except for one big BUT … I could not pass the test because I have highlights in my hair (!!!). So the catch is that the company manufactures hair dye only for coloring the entire head, which is suitable only for those who have decided to say goodbye to their highlights and go for something more traditional or monocolored ; )
Я не большой поклонник leave-in кондиционеров для волос, поскольку все обещанные свойства таких кондиционеров – незаметность на волосах, отсутствие утяжеления и т.п. – со мной не работают. Поэтому для меня этот кондиционер ничем особенным в этом смысле не отличился.
Что касается самого бренда eSalon – вот тут начинается самое интересное. Все это звучит чудесно, если бы не одно НО… Я не смогла пройти тест, поскольку у меня мелированные волосы (!!!). То есть компания производит краску только для полного равномерного окрашивания всей головы, а это подходит только тем, кто решил-таки попрощаться с мелированными волосами и перейти на что-то более традиционное и однотонное ; )

I do not understand this product… This fast-acting self-tanner foam from St.Tropez is supposed to give my skin a light shade of “bronzy-brown” (!!!) color. But I haven’t seen anything on my skin, I mean no color at all… Given the fact that I’m trying to protect my skin from the sun, and the only thing I use to get some “sun tan” are these kind of tonics, sprays and mousses, I had very high expectations for this Allure Breakthrough Award-winning foam. But the miracle did not happen…
To make it clear, in an ideal scenario, this mousse has manifested effect, that is, the longer you hold it, the stronger the color. So for example this is how the foam is shown working on the Sephora site.

С учетом того, что я стараюсь защищать мою кожу от загара в принципе, и единственное, чем я пользуюсь для загара это вот такие тоники, спреи и муссы, я возлагала большие надежды на этого победителя в категории Прорыв года по версии журнала Allure. Но чуда не произошло…

But nothing like that happened to my skin, even though I left this foam on for more than 3 hours, because I forgot to wash it off! Maybe the whole problem is that I did not properly prepare my skin… Maybe I didn’t peel it or didn’t get rid of my natural oils. Maybe my Lancome body cream somehow neutralized the effect of this mousse… I don’t know…
At some point, it seemed to me that my skin started turning dark, but after I looked closely, I couldn’t see any noticeable difference. Maybe I shouldn’t have to wait for some very noticeable darkening … Who knows…
What I do know is that I don’t have any desire to try the mousse again and again. I didn’t like the smell also, it was very specific, to say the least – it smelled of dampness or something like that. Grrr… In general, for me, this product does not meet its promises, it has an unpleasant smell, and it’s not worth my money ($44).
Но ничего подобного с моей кожей не случилось, хотя я оставила этот мусс проявляться больше чем на 3 часа, потому что даже забыла его смыть! Может быть все дело в том, что я не правильно подготовила кожу… не достаточно ее отшелушила или обезжирила. Может быть мой крем для тела от Lancome как-то нейтрализовал действие этого мусса… Не знаю…
В какой-то момент мне показалось, что кожа моя в месте нанесения мусса начала темнеть, но присмотревшись я не смогла увидеть какой-либо заметной разницы. Может быть не стоило мне ждать какого-то очень заметного потемнения… Не знаю…
Знаю только, что желания испытывать этот мусс на себе снова и снова у меня не возникает, еще и потому, что запах у этого продукта ну очень специфический, если не сказать больше – какой-то сыростью что-ли. В общем, для меня этот продукт не соответствует своим обещаниям, неприятно пахнет и не стоит свои денег ($44).
Wax Strips For Face, Bikini, Body, Completely Bare
I liked these little sticky strips despite the fact that I have for many years to stayed true to my proven depilator Brown Silk-epil and would not trade it for anything in the world. I was bribed to try these strips by primarily the ease of use. They do not need to warm up – just hand warm; they do not leak – two napkins glued adhesive side; and they do not need to charge :)
The package I got had 4 bikini strips and 4 face strips. I did not use them for my bikini zone – everything there was already done before :) So I tried all the strips on my arms. They successfully handled the task of getting rid of my almost invisible hair on my arms, although it was necessary to make a pass on the same place twice.
I couldn’t reuse these strips – they are only suitable for a single hair removal.
I think it’s an interesting product, especially for the rapid removal of unwanted hair in small areas.
Несмотря на то, что я уже который год остаюсь верной моему проверенному депилятору Brown Silk-epil и не променяю его ни на что на свете, вот эти маленькие липкие полосочки мне очень понравились. Подкупила прежде всего простота их использования. Их не нужно подогревать – достаточно просто согреть в руках; они не протекают – две салфетки склеены липкой стороной; и их не нужно заряжать :)
В упаковке было 4 полоски для зоны бикини и 4 для лица. Оговорюсь сразу, что я не делала ими депиляцию зоны бикини – там у меня все было уже приведено в порядок :) Поскольку образцы из бьюти-коробочки были очень маленькими, я оба варианта пробовала на руках. Полосочки с успехом справились с задачей по избавлению от волос, хотя пришлось проходить по одному и тому же месту по два раза.
Повторно использовать полоски не получится – они все пригодны только для разового удаления волос.
Интересный продукт, особенно для быстрого удаления нежелательных волос на небольших участках.
Face Sunscreen in Natural Tone Sheer Matte Finish With SPF 40, Cotz
This cream appears regularly in different beauty boxes. The first time I got it was two years ago in a Beauty Army box. Because of its color, it looks a lot like a foundation, with a very pleasant texture, reminiscent of cream. The cream is more dense than it actually is. When applying the cream on the skin it completely dissolves and mattes it. I even noticed that the cream smoothes pores. But the cream handles the color alignment a little worse – it didn’t mask my dark spots.
The biggest plus of this cream is that it serves three main functions which are essential things for almost all skin products for the summer: sunscreen with SPF 40, a matting effect and water resistance (and sweat resistance also!).
