I started the first days of the new year with a terrible cold. You know how it always happens – in all the pre-holiday euphoria you don’t really notice neither cold nor drafts. Your soul is wide open; if fact you are totally wide open to the elements – well, at least, unbuttoned!
And it seems like the upcoming holiday fun makes all your usual feelings a little less sharp; you feel like you are going to join with the Christmas lights and soar off towards a new future where everything will be better and brighter! Living with the anticipation of a wonderful, new future we do not notice what is happening to us in the present. And here’s the result of not paying attention…a cold.
Therefore, as soon as I got back on my feet, I edited my entire wardrobe. As my dad says, I “adjusted for the weather”. Now I use the main winter rule – clothes should be multi-layered. So, while outside the window it’s below 32, I wore my turtleneck sweater with a long wool cardigan that complements the color of the sweater. It is warm, comfortable and covers all the extrakilos I acquired as a result of the New Year’s feasts ;)
